No, whenever you have to do a system restore, please make sure to unplug your controller. Especially when you are updating graphics drives as this may corrupt your controllers' firmware.
Once you have plugged in your controller, right-click on the FF XIV icon and go to “Open File Location”. Then double-click on “ffxivconf” to configure your settings. Select your language, then click on “Gamepad” to configure your controllers’ button settings. Once you are done you can either test the settings or save them.
Your controller is pre-configured for Final Fantasy XIV. The programming for every PC game is different and may require you to manually set your controller. Your best bet is to check out your games' forum board for help or to google the information.
